Stonze To Hit The Us!

New patent seals promising future for British carp weight.
Innovative British firm Pallatrax is anticipating huge future success in the USA after its popular Stonze range was awarded a patent in the country. Thanks to a recent buyout by thriving multimedia firm O’Neil Modern Media (OMM), Pallatrax also has a new premises and vastly improved infrastructure to meet a greater demand for its pioneering products.

Back in 2008, Pallatrax exhibited at ICAST where its Stonze received a hugely positive reaction picking up the prestigious Best Terminal Tacke Award – the first and only UK firm to win any award at the show. Now that the firm has secured this patent and has the infrastructure to meet demand, the American market could be about to experience a Stonze revolution.

Simon Pomeroy, the managing director of Pallatrax and the inventor of Stonze, explained: “This year has already turned out to be one of the most important in Pallatrax’s history, and being granted the American patent is amazing – and the year has only just begun!

“Since winning the award at ICAST it was obvious to us that the American angler was quick to identify and appreciate the positive aspects of our Stonze weights. Having the American patent, which we will vigorously protect, along with OMM’s resources, will now allow us to build on our business strategy within the American retail market and fulfil the want for the product of the ever-increasing demand.”

OMM’s Mike O’Neill added: “This is fantastic news for us and adds to our patents in China and Europe. One of the major attractions within the Pallatrax portfolio to me, as both a businessman and an angler, was the Stonze and one of the main reasons for purchasing the company. With these patents and serious investment within the manufacturing and distribution by the OMM Group, anglers across the world will soon be able to appreciate the huge angling and environment benefits these weights offer.”

Stonze is a unique fishing weight system that uses natural stones as weights instead of traditional materials such as the toxic and much-maligned lead. It’s success in the UK looks set to expand with this new setup and protection from international patents growing all the time.

Besides Stonze, Pallatrax also produces a range of completely natural baits, the Naturals Range, and is also set to undergo a brand facelift courtesy of the expertise of its new owners, OMM.
