These unique back rests allow rods to be fished rock solid and negate any concerns, especially when fishing snaggy or weedy lakes.


The rubberised finish grips the rod nicely, while still protecting it. The retaining arms can be adapted easily by unscrewing the small washers to accommodate any rod-handle type with ease. The stainless-steel body is sturdy and features a nifty locking collar for perfect alignment on the buzz bars.

If I had a gripe it would be that they’re a bit on the bulky side, but I believe that Solar is launching a compact version soon. Oh, and nearly £50 for three back rests might be stretching most people’s budgets.
