Parking behind your swim always feels like a luxury as it is a very uncommon occurrence with most of the venues we visit. Luckily, when long walks are needed, we can transport heavy loads with the trusty old carp barrow. However, with steep inclines and laden with lots of kit, there are occasions when we can arrive in our chosen swim out of breath and suffering from more than regular perspiration. However, in recent years there have been more and more power barrows enter the market, and Solar’s latest release really is a sight to behold.

There is no doubting that this piece of kit commands a hefty price tag, but for the significant investment, you will receive plenty of bang for your buck. The SP-Tech Power Barrow is a true workhorse, where it can navigate all terrains by utilising the three in-built gear differentials. This will not only ensure that the user will arrive in their swim with a clear head, but they are also able to take their time rather than trying to end the previously gruelling physical test. Whether you are a fast or slow walker, Solar has implemented a variable speed adjustment to match your own walking pace, and this can be adjusted through the easy-to-use micro-touch power controller with LCD display, which is operated via the thumb. The position is also fully adjustable for maximum comfort. Within the LCD display, there is a six-point battery level indicator to ensure you never get caught short for the life of the battery.

This power barrow is also fully adjustable, including the height of the rear wheels, width of frame and adjustable rear legs. Mudfeet are available separately should you wish to convert in order to combat every possible substrate. For further storage options, Solar is including its Drop-Loc super-secure barrow bag, which helps distribute weight more evenly on the base of the barrow, whilst providing quick access to items when you are set up in your chosen swim. Should you be in a rush to get the rigs out in super-quick time but forget to turn the Power Barrow off, fear not, as the sleep timer can be set to auto power off. The electronics are also set up to be a very user-friendly plug and play system, where all wiring is hidden with only the connection plugs being visible.

A purpose designed EVA battery case can be easily removed from the barrow even whilst fully loaded, which means you can recharge at any time. Solar has carefully chosen to use a 300W hub wheel motor which is the best in its class, and when you pair this with the 360-degree full rotation rear wheels, both stability and manoeuvrability will never be a concern again.

Other design enhancements include an all-enclosed CPU and wiring, ensuring that the power being delivered is not only consistent but ultra-reliable. With the electronics being hidden, the only visible connection plugs have been made waterproof for obvious reasons. To help preserve the condition and durability of this magnificent Power Barrow, Solar has included an oversized barrow shroud finished with its own SolarCam pattern.
