Reuben Heaton The Specimen Hunter Classic Scale

I’m sure any angler would agree that when it comes to weighing your prize catch you want a reliable set of scales to ensure the highest level of accuracy.

I have used Reuben scales for as long as I can remember. Starting off with the entry-level Flyweight Mk2 scales, I have worked my way up to the Specimen Hunter Classic. Brought back into production in 2011, this model boasts the original dial configuration and beta light pointer illumination of the 1988 model.

Although it may not grab your attention at first, the beta light pointer is a superb addition to the scales, especially when weighing fish at night. It’s just another feature that gives you the confidence that you’re using a high-end product. With only one model available weighing up to 60lb in 1oz divisions, this is more than enough for my UK exploits and, to be honest, the little bit of Continental fishing I have experienced.

Reuben Heaton is also highly regarded for its after-sales service and will always calibrate and service your scales for a small fee to ensure that one set will last you for many years. (DM)
