The last metre is the most important one when carp fishing. If anything there lets you down it can be devastating.

We spend so much money on rods, reels, bivvies and barrows but that doesn’t catch you fish. The hook and the end-game setup are the crucial elements to your success and Prologic has released a wide range of terminal products that will help you put more carp on the bank.

Each month we will be looking at a specific product because we simply can’t do them all justice here, but three in particular caught our eye.

The Carp Rig Kit is a great concept. It’s a miniature tackle box that comes already filled with the essentials to help you present your rig and lead arrangement in the most popular methods. Complete with multi clips, helicopter swivels, ring swivels, safety lead clips and tail rubbers, anti-tangle tubing, silicone rig tubing, gripper beads and more, this is the perfect way to begin your journey of exploring various setups when out on the bank with just a single box.

Next up are the varieties of tungsten-infused products. Being one to conceal his rigs, I love to use weighted components to keep everything pinned down and some of these are just great. The Tungsten Anti-Tangle Sleeves and Drop Beads allow me to keep my rig firmly on the deck without the need for big lumps of putty. I will also be playing around with the Tungsten Anti-Tangle Tube. Lastly, among the hook links and leaders the Phyton Hollow Core leader lead free leader in, as the name suggests, an awesome spotted brown coloration. Supple and heavy, this material has great abrasion resistance in 45lb and is a real joy to splice and use.
