Total Carp Reader Carl Peake says: I was pleasantly surprised when I received this little bundle of Cling-On items and have so far enjoyed using them... well, most of them at least.

First up is the tubing, which is easy to thread, sinks like a stone and is pretty discreet on the lake bed.What more could you want from tubing?

As an alternative to tubing, the Cling- On Leader is a lead-free sinking material that is relatively easy to splice and, thanks to its supple nature, sits very nicely on the bottom. I was sent the Silt but I think there are other colours available.

The Cling-On Tungsten Putty has become a real favourite. I like the fact that it is exceptionally easy to use and very heavy – it’s the best putty I’ve used to date.

Finally, I was also sent the Cling-On Liquid, which is a kind of paint-on putty that sets after application. Sadly, I really couldn’t deal with the potent smell, something akin to nail-varnish remover, so I have not had the confidence to use it. I’m not saying it won’t work, but it’s just not for me.
