Try as I might, I cannot trim my gear down to the paltry amounts that other anglers seem to carry, particularly when it comes to terminal tackle.

Yes, I’ve finished sessions thinking: “Well, I didn’t use this,” and “I needn’t have brought that,” but ultimately the just-in-case side of my brain wins and I still take it all the next time out.

The one concession I have made is to swap my large Double F Box for a medium version, albeit still the double-sided one. This has made a big difference, not least to the weight of my rucksack, yet it still swallows up plenty of tackle, including a few bits that I will probably never need.

With multiple internal compartments and plenty of smaller boxes that complement the main box, all manner of items are kept out of harm’s way, from the tiniest rig rings through to spools of leadcore, scissors and other larger items.

The quality of Fox’s F Box is beyond question – they’re extremely well made and robust and even after dropping mine on more than one occasion it’s still going strong. All of this comes at a price, so be sure to choose the right one first time. With this one coming in at a whopping £74.99, it would be an expensive mistake if you chose incorrectly.
