Esp Syncro Xt Main Line

Dan Murrell’s verdict - a true joy to use, even at distance.

Having used braided main line for nearly three seasons, I was keen to get a monofilament line that I could cast well.
More than that, I wanted something durable and abrasion resistant due to the snag-infested waters I am currently targeting.
Well I actually spooled up on the bank due to my lack of organisation and I dreaded the line lay, imagining curly springs shooting from the spool.
I am glad to say that thanks to the slick finish it spooled up like a dream, and after just a few casts the line was as limp and supple as though it had been on my spool for quite some time.
Out of four possible breaking strains, 10lb, 12b, 15lb and 18lb, I opted for the 15lb with a diameter of 0.37mm. Casting hasn’t been a problem and with no leaders I have happily fished and landed carp from 125 yards.
With a leader I generally feel that I could fish in excess of 150 yards. As far as knot strength goes, I have used the old-faithful five-turn grinner quite happily and have not been let down.
I really can’t sing its praises enough and picking up a spool of 1,000 metres for under £20, I strongly recommend this line. (DM)
