Avid Carp Transfer Pva Bags

Marc Coulson’s verdict... Easy to use and extremely reliable.

★★★★★

I’ve written elsewhere recently that this year my carp fishing has predominantly consisted of day-only sessions, either on my local club water or occasionally when out shooting a feature.

As such, solid PVA bags have formed the main part of my approach; it’s a tactic that I am extremely confident in, that can go to any venue and, even if I say so myself, I think I am pretty adept at. I’m extremely fussy when it comes to which solid bags I use, so there are only a couple of companies’ bags that I have the utmost confidence in.

Avid’s Transfer bags are most definitely one such example and, if I’m honest, they’re my first choice. I’ve tried them all and, while there are some good ones, I’ve found that some batches can sometimes be much less reliable than others. This has, so far, never been the case with the Transfer bags and I have only experienced a handful of failures in approaching two and a half years of using them. I favour the size 5 versions, which, once tied tightly and with the lead in the right position, cast really well and have proved to be the ideal size for my style of fishing.
