Solar Go For Gold!

Star studded team to compete in World Carp Classic!
Solar Tackle will be going for gold in the 2013 World Carp Classic as the entry of Team Solar was been confirmed yesterday. Former World record holder Martin Locke, owner and founder of Solar Tackle, will be leading the team paired with Tom Duncan Dunlop, who has won the WCC previously taking gold in 2009 at Lac de Madine and was part of the winning team in the 2007 and 2008 events.

Fishing with them will be experienced carp-match anglers Colin Gray and Dan Moorecroft along with former carp-angling guide Dave Waite and one of the UK’s best carp anglers, Nick Helleur.

Having competed at Lake Bolsena in last year’s event, Martin and Tom know exactly what’s needed at Bolsena and preparations have already begun. The formidable team will not only be representing Solar Tackle, but with all six anglers being English, they’ll be competing to bring the silverware home to the UK.

“I’m really looking forward to the event for a number of reasons, not least for enjoying the buzz of the competition,” commented Martin. “ A big part of the match will be decided at the draw bag, but even a half-decent draw will put us in with a good shout of success. Each of the team members is an experienced carp angler, they all have prior experience of competition fishing and are all well versed in tackling huge venues. The plan is to come back with the gold trophy in hand… second place is not an option!”

You’ll be able to keep up to date with all the Solar Team’s preparations and follow them every step of the way throughout the 2013 WCC at www.solartackle.co.uk.
