Korda Subbraid

PUKKA! If choosing the right mono line is confusing, then it’s equally, if not more so, the case with braided lines.

Although there isn’t the huge range of braids, compared with monos, they vary hugely from one to another. Sinking, floating, round, flat, fine diameter, multi filaments and plenty of other descriptions abound. In SUBbraid, Korda has painstakingly developed a braided line that sinks like a stone and, while it’s not as thin as traditional casting braids, isn’t quite so wide diametered as many sinking versions.

I can vouch for this because on recent trips I have gone to retrieve my rigs and it’s been like using fluorocarbon, with the line literally hugging the bottom before lifting up. The olive green colour will be to most people’s liking and in the 15lb version that I have briefly used, it seems plenty strong enough and pretty abrasion resistant. I’m looking forward to using it some more and then reporting back. (MC)
