Soak into the baits a little at a time and, when in the water, your hook baits ooze a cloudy trail of attractions for hours at a time. They absolutely stink, the colours are bright and they’re great value for money.

GRAVITON PUTTY £6.99 Available in Weed Green and Chod Silt, this rig putty is extremely dense, but malleable and, as a result, easy to use. The wax (to make it softer) and tungsten (heavier) components are well balanced, which isn’t always the case and one can sometimes be a trade off against the other. In all, we really like this and it’s not as expensive as some others.

CHOD RIGS – SHORT £4.50 Tied using stiff rig material to impressively sharp Genomic Chod hooks, these are extremely neat and consistent throughout the range. This shorter size is ideal for low-sitting chod rigs and also for the hook section on the often difficult to tie hinged stiff rig. Just add your pop-up, attach your leader or boom and away you go!

CHOD RIGS LONG £4.50 Longer versions of the same chod rigs, these are again tied using the stiff link and the impressive Genomic hooks. More suited to chod rig fishing when the bottom debris is a little longer and when casting into weed. A dull-coated ring swivel completes both chod rigs, which are as well tied as we’ve seen.
