Marc Coulson’s verdict... “Excellent specialist rod at a ridiculously good price.” 4/5

I’m always a bit wary of so-called ‘stalker’ rods because they can sometimes just be short wands that offer little in terms of performance, especially at this lower end of the carp rod price range.

However, the first time I took this out I have to admit to being pleasantly surprised. Super-slim and lightweight, and with a really nice action for such a short rod, it felt responsive and balanced beautifully with a small Baitrunner-style reel. Although boasting a through-action curve, for a 6ft rod to have a 2.75lb test curve suggests some backbone when needed.

Sadly, such is the run of form I am in at the moment, I haven’t managed to actually hook a carp on the Stealth, but intend taking it out a few more times to experience that particular pleasure. However, from what I have done with it so far, I’d absolutely recommend it, especially at the price. (MC)
