Solar rod banks massive mirror. Carl Sharp has landed a large, distinctive mirror known as 'The Creature'. The French fish, which tipped the scales at 57lb 8oz, came on Carl's very first trip using Solar’s new, Seafood Take-Away boilies. The capture was the highlight of a hard week’s fishing at Laroussi in France, where just four carp were caught over the session between eight anglers.

serious pesticide pollution has hit the upper River Kennet this week
resulting in an almost total wipe-out of the aquatic invertebrates in
much of a 15km stretch downstream from Marlborough to Hungerford. As
yet fish populations remain unscathed but there are concerns that there
may be residual effects that are still to come. Much of this stretch of
famous chalkstream, renowned for its trout fishing, is situated within a
SSSI (site of special scientific interest.

New 10-part fishing series starts Monday!
A new fishing-competition TV series from the maker of Come Dine With Me is set to debut on the National Geographic Channel. King Fisher will see spirited anglers trying their hands at different kinds of fishing around the world, with the aim of finding out who is a fish out of water, and who will emerge as the King Fisher. Jenny Heaton, from National Geographic, explained: "Each adrenaline-filled episode pits three highly skilled anglers against one another during three separate fishing expeditions. Competitors challenge each other in their home waters, setting the stakes high while the others must learn different fishing styles and adapt to fishing in foreign waters.
Solar ace banks lake-best on first visit. Belgium-based big-carp specialist Gunther Poelmans took just 15 minutes to land the biggest carp in a new target water. Arriving at the venue at 11pm after a long shift at work, Gunther hadn't even had a chance to put the second rod on the ground after positioning the hook bait when the clutch on his first rod started spinning. After a hefty battle, which saw Gunther take to his Zodiac boat to land the fish, he slipped the net under the lake's biggest and most sought-after specimen in the shape of this mirror carp.
Carp ace is "buzzing" after latest capture. Sticky-backed ace Jim Shelley has enjoyed an unforgettable day's fishing after banking the massive Bayeswater Tiger Fish. The giant mirror carp weighed in at a staggering 47lb 6oz. Jim caught the lump on a Sticky's 20mm krill
bottom bait, soaked in liquid krill over 2kg of 15mm krill
boilies.

French super venue produces second 70 of the year. Gigantica has produced its second 70lb carp of 2013 in the formidable shape of Drop Tail. The huge mirror weighed in at 70lb and fell to Polish angler Marcin Bielawski. Marcin tempted his new PB over plenty of Mainline Hybrid, which he applied steadily over the course of a week to a spot out from the Stock Pond swim.
