41lb monster is icing on cake for Jim Wilson. Korda ace, Jim Wilson had a long weekend to remember last week, after banking an incredible six fish haul -the best of which went a massive 41lb 10oz!Jim explained: "I arrived at my syndicate around 05:30am on Friday morning for a rare weekend’s fishing. There were already three or four people dotted around the lake and well spread out. A swim that had been kind to me over the spring was free, and as it was a weekend, I thought being in that area could only be beneficial, as the swim I fancied is the only one giving access to the area of lake I fancied.

Tom Oliver reflects on a month to remember. The first trip of May was at my syndicate lake and after recent success I was keen to get back for another go. I arrived at the lake to the normal silly season scenario of all of the main swims being taken bar a couple the furthest walk from the car park. As it was all that was left me and a friend Dave quickly filled the gaps and set up home for the weekend.

40lb 10oz pit beast landed. Solar Team member Carl Sharp landed this 40lb 10oz cracker from the Monk's Pit syndicate in Cambridgeshire on June 16th. The mirror, known as Moonscale, is one of the lake's A-Team and a fish that Carl's been after since joining the water a couple of years ago. A snowman presentation made with a Solar Club & Cream dumbell and Dairy Cream pop-up fished over 1kg of matching freebies and half a kilo of hemp at 90 yards proved the winning combo.

Nash Junior Consultant and prolific carp catcher Alfie Russell raised a few eyebrows when he bagged this stunning 43lb 8oz common. What makes this capture special is the fish was caught from a southern park lake and was previously unknown and possibly uncaught. Alfie, aged 14, had spent two days walking the venue and tracking down the resident carp, before making the effort to introduce bait several times before he wet a line. Targetting a shallow bay, he introduced a mixture of 15mm Monster Squid Boilies and sweetcorn on his baiting trips.

Geert Ooms has landed one of his target fish, this impressive 60lb-plus dark mirror. The fish was taken using Solar Tackle’s new Seafood Take-Away boilies. Geert takes up the story: “With a two-day spell of warmer weather set to break the monotony of the wet, cold weather in Belgium I was itching to get out to my target water. Unable to get the time off work, though, it wasn’t until the day after this warm spell that I could eventually head out.
