43lb 4oz common is new lake best. Somerset rod Josh Russell recently broke the Oxlease Lake record at the popular Linear complex with a 43lb 4oz PB common – on his first visit to the venue. Josh explained: “Visiting the Linear Complex in Oxford for the first time at the weekend, I decided to fish Oxlease Lake on the car-park side where I saw a few carp crash out. After a quick flick around with the marker rod, I decided to fish a silty area about 60 yards out baiting with particles.

Full moon yields massive common for French rod. French big-carp angler Franck Couturier enjoyed a rewarding session on a big French gravel pit recently, banking a massive 50lb common carp. The giant common was taken under the light of a full moon, after what proved quite a difficult session for the Taska-backed ace. The weather in particular made fishing difficult, nevertheless, after some clever baiting techniques involving 20mm Trigga Pineapple N'Butyric boilies and a hook bait of the same topped with a 16mm Pop Up mounted on Taska Baseline tackle, Franck landed this stunning 50lb common!Some say it's luck?
