New initiative reports boom in membership. Carp Team PL was established in May 2011 in the UK under the initiative of Polish carp angling enthusiasts with the aims of promoting catch-and-release carp fishing and introducing Polish carp anglers living in the UK to each other. The Carp Team are really excited to be able to learn about UK angling techniques and to fish at the best UK waters and this positive attitude is gradually changing the way Carp Team PL are perceived by UK anglers. Carp Team PL are now receiving plenty of great feedback about their activities and have achieved this through fishing within and promoting UK angling laws, customs and byelaws and by participating in angling charity events.

New additive accounts for massive countrywide catches. A new bait additive that many anglers have described as the smelliest substance that they have ever come across has been accounting for some massive catches up and down the country. The additive, that the creators have simply named ‘Stinky Stuff’ is the result of over two years of scientific development. Creator, David Bailey explained: "The name Stinky Stuff came from people asking: "What's that stinky stuff?" when we were trialling it.

It’s been a very long time since I used any rods apart from my own, which I have owned for three years. Although my rods have a 3. 5lb test curve I have always found them less than beefy and my casting has been restricted to around the 100-yard mark. However, having used these for some time, I can testify to their casting prowess.

Krill is very much the in vogue bait right now and this liquid additive is up there with the best krill around. Just a capful or two can transform a spod mix and it’s also perfect for adding to PVA bags and stick mixes for extra pulling power. I love to dip or soak my hook baits in a small amount of the pungent liquid for a few minutes, or longer, before casting out. This helps the hook bait stand out from the crowd and I am sure that it’s resulted in a few bonus bites here and there.

When Sonubaits front man Ian Day visited TC Towers recently, we were intrigued by samples of a new project that he’s been working hard on. The new Salty Nut Crush range of baits provoked instant curiosity among the team and this is a relatively rare occurrence because we see so many new products, especially in terms of supposedly new bait concepts. Ian has managed to create a completely unique profile to the range of baits that bear the Salty Nut Crush name. This is mainly due to the exclusive peanut flour that has been sourced.
