When we heard that Wychwood had produced a bivvy that unlike its previous products was not price sensitive, we were pretty excited. On unveiling it at its tradeshow we were not only surprised but also a little bit gobsmacked. Completely different from what we had in mind, this new, innovative piece of kit really
does bring a new level to fishing shelters, in terms of design, features and looks. The D-ploy
was developed over an extensive period, picking the brains of some of the country’s most influential anglers, like Nigel Sharp and John McAllister, to name but a few.

Regarded as one of Sticky’s best-selling products, this highly attractive liquid is not only extremely versatile but has a proven track record, catching literally hundreds of carp across the country. Utilizing real bloodworm, this natural liquid is a product that cannot be overdosed and helps to fool even the wariest of carp into thinking a natural harvest of bloodworm has occurred. On applying this nutrient-richadditive, it generates an appealing and visual hazy cloud that sits over the substrate, allowing the carp to feed freely and with confidence. The liquid can be added to pellets, particles and even soaked into boilies, but it can really come into its own when used in spod mixes.

The HQ twin skin broke into the carp scene and made a big impact as the first-ever bivvy to feature a built-in twin skin as standard. Not only eliminating condensation, it also completely eradicates the need for a winter skin and, what’s more, once it has been installed it never has to be taken out again. So how can this already well-regarded shelter be even better? Now boasting a new improved internal layout, there is even more usable internal space, if you can believe it. The unique separated pole design allows the shelter to easily accommodate a large bedchair, all your tackle and even enough room to house your stove and let you brew up and cook inside.

My name is Tyler Lane and I'm 14 years old. My greatest love is carp fishing. I eat, sleep and dream fishing and now actually work on Saturdays in my local tackle shop, so for me life is perfect, apart from fitting school into the equation. I took part in my first BYCAC this year and finished 19th in the finals, which not only increased my knowledge but also my determination to get further in the fishing world and one day to be as great as my uncle, Dave Lane.

Let me start with one simple rule – faith. Not religion but faith in what you do as a carp angler. I mean have faith in your end tackle, baits, and your way of angling. If you have hope in other things it might fail.

The immense carp known as The Parrot has been banked at a colossal 68lb 1oz, which once verified will sit as the new British RecordThe fish will take over the mantle from the much loved Two Tone, which held the top spot for several years before passing away. The carp world has been anticipating which of the new breed of big carp would take over from the Conningbrook great, with many correctly suggesting that The Parrot would be the one to do so. It's not yet know whether captor Dean Fletcher will enter a claim for the official record, but it looks likely that he will and the Wasing beast will be ranked biggest in the country!Don't miss a fascinating interview with Dean in the March issue of our sister publication Advanced Carp Fishing magazine. .

Dan Murrell’s verdict - a true joy to use, even at distance. Having used braided main line for nearly three seasons, I was keen to get a monofilament line that I could cast well. More than that, I wanted something durable and abrasion resistant due to the snag-infested waters I am currently targeting. Well I actually spooled up on the bank due to my lack of organisation and I dreaded the line lay, imagining curly springs shooting from the spool.
