I love a bit of liquid bait and L030 (L-zero-thirty) is one of the very best out there. Most of the top bait companies produce a derivative of this awesome carp attractor and feed. CCMoore has always offered one of the best L030s around and the tuna adds an altogether different dimension. This thick syrupy concoction is hugely versatile.

Fishing is very much a social sport and I’m sure – or I would like to hope – that many of you reading this will in fact enjoy fishing with your mates, partners and children as well as those days when you go alone. This product is for the social angler, the person who requires extra space and the angler that generally plays host, because there’s always one person whose swim becomes the venue for the antics of a fishing social. The Trakker Utility shelter is the perfect space whether you’re cooking, getting changed or just talking, avoiding the rain. With enough room to stand up in, the shelter stands tall at 195cm x 155cm deep and 218cm wide.

Cygnet Tackle is fast becoming recognised as an authoritative figure in bankware, but what was missing? Bite indication. Well, after plenty of persuasion, Cygnet has finally revealed its plans to bring a range of bite indication products to the market with Mark Walters, the man behind the famous and prestigious Muddy Waters range. The Clingas are available in a multitude of sizes to suit each angler’s preference and, of course, individual fishing scenarios. From the ultra-sensitive and lightweight Old Skool variety, which scores exceptionally well with slack-line anglers and anyone in the ‘Carpy’ fraternity, moving up in size is the still small but superb Clinga Lite, an all-rounder for the majority of fishing, and the Dumpy Clinga, two of the most popular versions you will see gracing the bank.

Whether you fancy yourself as a bit of a Gordon Ramsey or you just enjoy a nice brew, a stove is an essential item of kit when it comes to fishing for any length of time. Trakker has long been recognised as one of the best manufacturers of cooking and outdoor-shelter supplies and this product is no exception. Weighing in at 381g and measuring just a minimal 9 x 9. 5 centimetres, this lightweight and compact design unfolds to present the user with a wide-framed stove of which its low centre of gravity makes it the ideal, stable platform for cooking safely and efficiently.

Okay, so it’s fair to say that I rarely use a full-blown bivvy these days, preferring instead my brolly. However, as we head into winter, the comfort of a proper bivvy might be called for. If so, and having tested this one, on and off, for some time now, I have to say that I’d be perfectly happy using it. Without having a ridiculously oversized footprint, the Vizor Lite boasts absolutely loads of internal room, thanks to the spaced bars at the base of the pramhood design.

This bedchair is easily as comfortable as all my previous bedchairs and I would go as far as saying perhaps even comfier, thanks to the memory foam mattress My only criticism is that it can get a little too warm for my liking in hot stuffy conditions, but at the end of the day what bed doesn’t? I love the fact that it is symmetrical, meaning I can sleep with my head at either end with no problem and the oversized mattress actually allows me to use the whole of the bed instead of being confined to the inside of the frame. This also prevents my elbows banging on the bars and makes for a comfy seat when you perch on the side. looking out over the lake or tying rigs and what not. The completely flat profile makes for a sound night’s sleep; it not only feels better but has done wonders for my posture, although I do now have to carry a pillow, but that’s no real hardship.

When I first joined my syndicate earlier this year I was greeted with the sight of a 15-acre lake absolutely choked with weed. To be fair, choked might be a bit harsh, but it was weedy. Very weedy. I knew the first thing I needed to do was get some sturdy line that would cope with the job in hand.

This has been one of those products that we in the TC and ACF offices have been eager to get our hands on and, when one finally arrived, I was just glad that the box came addressed to me! The construction and quality is extremely sturdy and the twin magnets in each corner keep the closure secure. Inside there is ample room to contain plenty of chod rigs, both short and longer versions fitting into the relevant sections. The storage ‘bin’ is removable and the centre of it can be pushed through to create a handle for safe steaming of lines using the rounded profile. Inside this handle there’s even a compartment to store the supplied pins.
