Water butts are an important piece of kit for all anglers but there’s always the age-old problem when trying to fill a single cup or kettle because the water spits and spurts as you pour. By screwing on the supplied removable tap it allows you to use the container much more efficiently, ensuring the flow is immediate and controlled. The water butt can be bought in a five-litre, 10-litre or 15-litre capacity, catering for quick overnight stays or longer three to four-day durations. The largest of the three also features an extra-large filling hole, making them a doddle to replenish, especially from a smaller water container.

In this day and age, a key to being a successful angler is often versatility, fishing different waters, styles and even lengths of sessions. Well at Nash this has very much been the foresight for the most recent of product launches and the Cube Ruckall is an excellent example. Either being used as a traditional rucksack for the angler on the move or a foldout carryall for the longer-session angler, the low-key flat profile suits it to being stashed away under the bedchair or conveniently on the barrow. Separating into three sections, it is ideal for versatile storage options.

Hello and welcome to the first of my blogs! For those who don’t know who I am, I work as Editorial Assistant on Pole Fishing, and am probably as one of the most fishing obsessed men on the planet! When I’m not out shooting features or in the office writing them up, I like to get out on the bank myself competing in matches the length and breadth of the country. I also have a reputation for telling really bad jokes, so you will have to forgive me if the odd corny line finds its way into my weekly rants. I would love to know your thoughts on what I write, so feel free to get in touch by email to: tom. scholey@dhpub.

Pallatrax is proud to announce that owners Simon and Tini Pomeroy attended the Houses of Parliament, London on the 16th November for the prestigious global Green Apple Awards ceremony in recognition of international environmental best practice. Held on the Houses of Parliament’s magnificent terrace overlooking the River Thames, companies from all over the world, as far away as Korea and Brazil, were in attendance to receive acknowledgment for developing products and inventions sympathetic to the world wide environment. Though attendees knew they were to be honoured with an award, only at the event were they informed of the level of award in their specific category: Bronze, Silver or Gold. Pallatrax’s patented natural Stonze fishing weights had been entered into the Sports and Leisure category, being recognised as a product with a low carbon footprint.

It feels like it was only the other day when I was waking along the bank with the sun streaming down and even a T-shirt was too much to bear. Now all of a sudden I’m waking up and finding the need to wear something to beat the morning chills. Well, that’s where the ESP Fleece Hoody comes into play. As you would expect from ESP it looks great, understated and in olive green it’s just what I fancy.

Winter generally means shorter sessions, trying to optimise your time in order to nick a bite and get back home in the warm. Well, efficiency is key and with this awesome little short-session food bag allows you to organise yourself so you can make the most of your time on the bank. Internally there is an insulated lining with adjustable divider and milk insulator, allowing you to ensure your food remains the right way up and keeps cool throughout the day. A removable brew kit pouch is a great addition, allowing you to keep everything in just one bag.
