Lee Jackson’s verdict - Well worth a look, especially at this price! 4/5
Tackle Box’s Lee Jackson says: Although these indicator heads have been available for a number of years, the first time I actually got to use a set was on a trip to Rainbow Lake in France in 2015 and I’ve used them ever since.
What impressed me most was that even when the LED on my bite alarm was trying its best to burn a hole in my retinas, the bobbin still stood out. The Power Glo heads are available in five colours – red, green, amber, white or blue – and come supplied with a line clip and are compatible with all Solar and most other companies’ chains and hockey sticks.
Each head is powered by two supplied LR44 batteries, and once the head is turned on, the LED in the bobbin is switched on and becomes highly visible once it gets dark.
Are you getting tired of having banksticks rattling around in your rod bag or falling out of your unhooking mat?
Well the team at Nash has the solution. Measuring in at 60 (l) x 16 (w) x 8 centimetres (d) the dedicated luggage solution boats elastic retaining loops and offers ample space to hold up to eight individual sticks complete with alarms, indicators and rear rod rests.
A heavy-duty zip gives three-sided access for ease of use and with a padded divider it helps to keep all your items in tiptop condition, even when in transit. (DM)

I have two weaknesses when it comes to carp kit… bobbins and little bags, and these are right up my street. In fact, I use one of these very sacks to keep some of my bobbins in!
Available in DPM and plain green, there are three sizes and all of them come in extremely useful whatever you’re trying to store and keep organised. Unlike more rigid luggage or even boxes, they take up very little room and if, like me, you’ve been trying to cut your kit down a bit, they are spot-on.
The relatively padded, quilted construction makes for some protection for the contents and a drawstring means they can be closed up if needs be.

It was brought home just how popular this product was at this year’s Carp In The Park and having had a closer look it’s clear to see why.
As a dual-purpose product it brings plenty of features to what would normally be a general product. The all-encompassing bivvy light offers adjustable cool white light and three separate grades of red, ideal for when the mozzies are out but you still need illumination in the bivvy. Offering up to 60 hours’ battery life from a single charge, the Hobo Glow also benefits from a power bank function, helping you to keep any electrical devices alive while out on the bank utilising a single USB port.

PUKKA!If choosing the right mono line is confusing, then it’s equally, if not more so, the case with braided lines.
Although there isn’t the huge range of braids, compared with monos, they vary hugely from one to another. Sinking, floating, round, flat, fine diameter, multi filaments and plenty of other descriptions abound. In SUBbraid, Korda has painstakingly developed a braided line that sinks like a stone and, while it’s not as thin as traditional casting braids, isn’t quite so wide diametered as many sinking versions.

There is no shortage of good hooks available to the modern carp angler and in these, Prologic has raised its own bar significantly.
With super-sharp points throughout the range, there are a host of patterns to cover all fishing situations. My only slight reservation here is that they carry numbers for their descriptions, such as XC2, XC5 and XC7, which don’t immediately tell you what they’re designed to be used for.
That aside, most pop-up and bottom-bait presentations are more than catered for and each pattern looks relevant.

Bivvy lights are a very ‘Marmite’ type product; you simply either love it or hate it. What really dawned on me at this years Carp In The Park event was the amount of love going around for one bivvy light in particular the Hobo Glow. As a dual-purpose product it boasts a wide array of features to what would normally be a general product. The all-encompassing bivvy light, offers adjustable cool white light and three separate grades of red, ideal for when the mozzies are out but you still need some illumination in the bivvy.
So we have all heard about how useful yardsticks can be and it seems very widely accepted terminology to explain how far a certain spot is: “12 wraps to the pylon mate. ”
Going one step further, Avid Carp is proud to offer the glow-in-the-dark variety, making it even easier to get your rods back out on the same mark whether it’s 1am or 1pm. Simply wrap around the subtle green tips and away you go.
Supplied with a 12ft cord, you can always gauge a rod length with ease and the three separate and different coloured toggles allow you to clearly mark each rod’s distance for increased accuracy.
