Who would have thought, that in the year 2024, you can walk into a tackle shop and buy a set of high quality alarms from a reputable brand for £100 and return home with change. Said alarms are the latest feature packed release from Sonik Tackle and come in the shape of its very own HEROX Bite Alarms. These can either be purchased as a single alarm, a two-alarm set and receiver as well as a three-alarm set and receiver. 

With eight sensitivity levels, including eight volume and tone settings, there is plenty of adjustment for tackling various venues in changeable conditions. There is also a silent mode and an intelligent mute mode, which removes the need to turn the alarms off when setting your bobbins after casting out. Backward drop back indication also makes an appearance, a feature that has commonly been associated with more expensive bite alarms options in the past. With the HEROX Bite Alarms, tall internal snag ears have made a welcome appearance, preventing rods from being pulled into the drink whilst providing enough resistance to prevent a hooked fish from finding snaggy sanctuary. These include rod friendly rubber inlays, whilst twin high visibility 5mm LEDs create enhanced visibility during the hours of darkness. 

On the HEROX Receiver the same quality is retained, boasting four channels that can be assigned to the red, green, blue and orange LEDs. And it is with each channel where four alarms can be assigned, great when fishing social sessions at both home and abroad. The HEROX Bite Alarms have an incredible 150m range, including a vibrating function, which is most useful when looking to be as silent as possible on your chosen venue. To avoid any unwanted losses, there is also a lanyard attachment point, although the creative design allows the receiver to sit free standing on any tabletop when required. 

Tones are automatically matched with each alarm when paired, and the eight volume levels allow for fine-tuning at various times of the day. There is even a torch function to enable the user to safely find their way around the swim at night. Both HEROX Bite Alarms and Receiver make effective use of a silent low battery warning, which also applies to the included Bivvy Light that comes with each alarm set. This handy light illuminates in six different colours of red, green, blue, yellow, white and purple, and is supplied with its own magnetic plate and elastic loop for attachment to your shelter. The Bivvy light will illuminate when the paired HEROX Bite Alarms are triggered by fish activity and much like the receiver, you can register four alarms per colour channel. All three units are operated with AAA batteries, which makes replacement a piece of cake, and to prolong the battery life of the Bivvy Light, you can select the lowest of three brightness levels should you find yourself fishing a longer session.
