Bait

Activ-8 has repeatedly outdone itself, with a string of big-fish captures, not to mention the countless other carp that it has banked. It is one of the best carp catchers around.

The Activ-8 arrived in the office with a feature in mind and once it had served its purpose I was keen to get my hands on it.

Although designed initially for inclusion in base mixes, I prefer to use it neat as a dip or soak for hook baits and a boosted addition for stick mixes and the like. I don’t have a problem with using dedicated glugs and dips but feel that the neat nature of this specific ingredient is the edge that can often separate one hook bait from another. It also requires a lot less of the Activator to actually produce the same level of attraction as a conventional bait glug.

The rich aroma of the Activ-8 is a personal favourite but other popular flavours are also available from Mainline. If you want to be using a hook bait with a difference, then be sure to check them out. (DM)
