If there’s one thing I hate it’s getting my car muddied up with my fishing tackle, so a boot liner of some description has always been a must. Having tested this one through each of the four seasons, it’s stood up well to the task of keeping my motor relatively clean and tidy. I have what you might call a small estate car, a BMW 3 series, and the Aqua Boot Liner fits it perfectly – you’d be forgiven for thinking that it had been made especially for this model. That leads me to think that it may fall a little short if you own a significantly bigger car.

Although we haven’t been blessed with the sunniest of summers, I have worn these glasses at any given moment. The lightweight frames and stylish design make these a pair of glasses that I have worn driving, fishing or chilling in the beer garden. I have found the graduated polarising lens to be a great help when light levels change and when travelling to various venues, with differing clarities and depths. Ideally designed for bright or medium light conditions, they are a great pair of glasses that won’t break the bank.

With two sizes available, these little rests will suit whatever rod you use. I’ve been testing the larger size because I have Duplon-handled rods and they fit really snugly. They also look an absolute treat, thanks to their compact size. VERDICTPerformance: 8/10Value: 8/10It’s just a bit of rubber at the end of the day, but I like them!RRP: £3.

With many of the sunglasses available falling short on upbeat, innovative design, Fortis has carved itself a new niche in the fishing sunglasses market. Inspired by designer specs models, it has produced a range that ticks the functional and stylish boxes for modern fishing lenses. Nevertheless, this doesn’t mean that it has compromised on functionality. The frames all wrap around the eyes preventing sidelight ingress, a common problem with some non-fishing sunglasses.

I have used Enterprise’s range of imitation baits for years and I still rate them as the best. These fluoro versions of the versatile Mag-Aligner grubs are extremely bright and do not lose their colour over time. Although designed primarily to sit on the shank of the hook to form a line-aligner rig, I use them more to tip my boilie hook baits, in place of a hair stop. It helps my hook bait stand out among the freebies and, so far, it’s been pretty successful.

Okay, hair stops are hair stops, right? Well, yes, but these are decent versions, well shaped to fit neatly into your baits (if that sort of thing matters to you) and they are available in a plethora of colours. I like to use a fluoro orange or yellow to add a flash of colour to my otherwise dull New Grange hook baits. Here’s the best bit, there are a whopping 212 stops in every pack! Taska also produces an extended version. Marc CoulsonRRP: £1.

These unique back rests allow rods to be fished rock solid and negate any concerns, especially when fishing snaggy or weedy lakes. The rubberised finish grips the rod nicely, while still protecting it. The retaining arms can be adapted easily by unscrewing the small washers to accommodate any rod-handle type with ease. The stainless-steel body is sturdy and features a nifty locking collar for perfect alignment on the buzz bars.

A sharp intake of breath will no doubt be most people’s first reaction upon seeing the price of these glasses. However, there’s a simple rule in most walks of life – you get what you pay for. I’ve used a pair of these for a year or so and, more recently, have been testing newer versions with updated lenses and snazzy frame option. They are quite simply stunning.
