Dan Murrell’s verdict:Outstanding value-for-money waders. 4/5

I love a pair of waders, and have tried most, so was interested when these turned up.

First impressions were of tough waders, which immediately appealed because I’m known as really putting stuff through its paces. I was amazed to find that they cost less than 40 quid!

The material is 680g Plavitex, which once I’d put them on felt easy enough to move in but also extremely robust and, obviously, supremely waterproof. Strong, elasticated straps allow for a snug fit and the internal chest pocket is a handy addition, although I felt it would benefit from some sort of flap to avoid anything falling from it when leaning over.

The sizings appear pretty good because my size 10s are a snug fit; important when wading through sticky silt and suchlike. The only gripe I have is that it’s not easy to leave the boots sat upright and ready to jump into when not in use (regular wader wearers will know what I mean by this). Instead, they do tend to lean over. However, don’t lose sight of the fact that these are £37.99 waders, so this is a relatively small price to pay for such value. I’d definitely recommend these as a first pair of chesties or for the occasional user who doesn’t have vast funds available. (DM)
