Pressure group forms in response to 'lack of action' on otter predation issue. A new group, formed with the aim of confronting the issue of predation on carp has announced it is set to launch next month. The body, known at the moment as the English Carp Defense League, is a pressure group formed in response to what it sees as a ‘lack of action’ from authorities to the serious threat posed by otter predation across the UK. Already causing waves throughout the UK carp fraternity, the man behind the ECDL, Mark Holmes - respected carper and former editor of sister magazine Advanced Carp Fishing – spoke to Total Carp about what he and the other anglers backing the group are seeking to achieve.

30 specimen carp travel through three countries to new fishery home. A delivery of 30 specimen carp made a huge 800 mile trip recently to be stocked into one of North Wales’ top carp waters. In total 10 mirrors over 20lb, to 27lb, and 20 between 12 and 17lb made their way to Llyn Y Gors in Anglesey following their epic journey (for carp) from Scottish fish rearing company KBA Stockfish. The bigger fish were introduced into the venue’s Thompsons Lake, while the smaller fish found a new home in The Old Carp Lake ready to give visiting carpers some terrific sport in the New Year.

Massive Japanese manufacturer brings new products to UK tackle shops. The world’s biggest independent line company, Sunline, has made a return to UK and Ireland tackle shops after a decade. Being distributed by Nice Fish! Distributions, the UK will be seeing a wide range of Sunline products, including the Japanese company’s four and eight-strand braids, fluorocarbons and monos back on the shelves. The news is thanks to one man’s enthusiasm for the company’s products.
