Floodwater subsides at Oxfordshire Lake. One of the countries most popular and famous big carp waters, Richworth Linear Fisheries, near Stanton Hardwick in Oxfordshire is to reopen its gates. The fishery closed after weeks of rainfall caused several of the lakes to rise above the platforms, making them dangerous for anglers to fish. A statement on the fishery website explained: “Linear can confirm that the measures taken after the summer floods of 2007, to prevent fish loss, have worked well and no fish have been able to pass through the catch fencing barriers or transfer between the three waters.
