HRH praises British ingenuity. His Royal Highness, The Prince of Wales visited Liverpool on Monday, tying in a visit to well known rod manufacturer, Harrison Advanced rods. In a speech presented in the morning, the prince warned that Britain was in danger of relinquishing its world class reputation if more young people were not attracted into the industries. “He said: "Too often it seems forgotten in this country that Britain is very good at manufacturing and has all sorts of remarkable skills of ingenuity and inventiveness”"As a country, we are rightly proud of our industrial heritage and we should also celebrate our continued success as a standard-bearer for quality manufacturing and engineering throughout the world.

Icy reception for carrot nosed angler. Intrepid carp anglers, Lynn and Ian Oldham were none too impressed to be snowed in this weekend - as they were looking forward to a session on their local big fish water. Sadly the bad weather made it impossible to drive their van off their drive, let alone out to the venue! Not a pair to be easily put off, they instead put their time to good effect by creating a fishy creation of their own - complete with bivvy, angler, and fishing tackle! Lynn explained: "Both me and my partner do a lot of carp fishing, but due to the bad weather this was not possible. The fact that our van got snowed in meant we could not go to work either, so to fulfill our time we spent the day making our own fishing snowman plus snowbivvy and catch.
