As a result of doing a lot of PVA-bag work recently, I have moved from a coated hook link to a suppler alternative. The Pin Down is extremely easy to work with and simple to manipulate when placing it inside a PVA bag. I have been using the Weed/Silt colour, which looks great over the lake bed because the mottled, broken colour virtually disappears. The hook link is quite heavy, which again I like because it eliminates the need to add putty.
The new big-pit reel from Wychwood offers an instant spod or marker reel straight out of the box that won’t break the bank. The Dispatch 7500 has an understated design with a classy matt-black finish and certainly won’t look out of place on the bank. It boasts an incredibly large spool that is supplied loaded with 200 metres of 30lb braid, so it’s ready to be used from the word go. Now that’s value for money.
I go through stages where I’ll either pre-tie rigs before a trip or I will prefer to do so on the bank. However, some rigs I always have tied up and at the ready, such as the 360. Most rig wallets, even the better ones, are simply too short, restricting me to rigs between six and 10 inches. I much prefer longer rigs, often up to 12 inches or so (size does matter after all) and the 18in XXL Rigger Pouch allows me to store these easily.

Dynamite has taken the ever-popular Monster Tiger Nut and included a fruit, feed-inducing palatant to give it a twist that will deliver the goods, resulting in a very distinct fruity aroma with a pleasant nutty undertone. The bait’s appearance is equally appealing in a soft pink coloration. Present in the range are shelf-life baits, available in 1kg and 5kg bags in 10, 15 and 20mm. Plus, by popular demand, Dynamite has produced both 1kg and 5kg bags of freezer bait available in 15 and 18mm.
When we saw this at the Tackle & Guns Trade Show it literally stopped us in our tracks. The compact design, top build quality and unquestionable value for money really did blow us away. A simplistic but effective two-rib, pram-hood design ensures quick erection and with the fitted porch offers extra protection for when the elements take a turn for the worse. The Royale Classic features a mesh or removable PVC clear-panel front door and two mozzie-mesh panels on the front that keep bugs at bay and supply a welcome airflow in the warmer weather.
