When Dynamite combined a new fruit-based palatant with its already hugely successful Monster Tiger Nut recipe, the result was a bait that is instantly accepted by carp and which also proved a valid long-term food source through testing. Although all new baits will claim to have an immediate impact when introduced, it’s difficult to tell when this is true and when it is not. I have witnessed Red-Amo going into a lake for the first time (it hadn’t been launched yet) and immediately proving successful. I also happen to know a fair few of the Dynamite field testers and they too reported great results almost from day one.
Talented young angler Harvey Chamberlain had a fantastic result on his syndicate lake this month. In this short blog piece he tell us how his fishing turned into a real Red Letter Day. My first trip back to my syndicate lake in Reading. I managed to arrive at the lake for 7pm and got set up just before dark.
Full black bankware is really in vogue at the moment. Cygnet has developed its new range with a view to making it fully interchangeable with all of the banksticks and extras in the range.
Made from powder-coated or anodised aluminium, the durable finish looks great on the bank. All of the fitments have been upgraded to be more durable and stronger.

TC reader Geraint Thomas says: "When Marc Coulson e-mailed me and gave me a choice of a few products to review I immediately jumped at these, given that there is a total leader ban on my water. "This problem is solved with the taper from 40lb down to 10lb. Imagine it as a giant tapered leader that fills your spool. I managed to fit it almost perfectly on my reel, so there was no need for backing or, importantly, trimming any of the thicker line off.
The super-compact body of the S5 is similar in appearance to Nash’s more expensive, all-singing, all-dancing alarm, but features just an on/off switch. It also has a built-in line guard and red run and latching LED. I found, in testing, that the indication was superb, especially for an alarm in this price bracket. There is a remote version available (£49.

I was in desperate need of a catty when this landed in the office and had to be tested, so off I went, bait in hand to give it a good go. As far as I was aware a catapult is a catapult, however the Korda Katapult has a few improvements on other products I have used. The ball-joint system that attaches the elastic to the frame, vastly reduces the amount of stress on the elastics, allowing them to last longer even when you exert more pressure on them for ’pulting out larger quantities of bait or baiting at further distance. I have found this catty to be very effective for ranges up to 60 yards and, in my honest opinion, if you want to go further then roll out the throwing stick or spod rod.
