Female duo hours away from taking carp fishing's richest prize.
With less than 24 hours to go in the world’s biggest carp match the excitement level couldn’t be higher, as anglers speculate over this year’s winning pair. In the hot seat this year are Netherlands pair Bianca Venema and Lizette Beunders, who could just be hours away from taking home the biggest prize in carp fishing. Lizette and Bianca have been in first position for virtually the entire match, with their unique baiting strategy and hard work paying dividends from the very start, the duo have been catching consistently throughout.

Nic Brown, the events official media partner, commented: "It has certainly been impressive to watch as they go about their task with such determination. In all the conditions that this incredible lake has thrown at them they have stayed resolute and now they are within touching distance of making history.

"As a journalist out on the bank my fingers and toes are permantly crossed. As the sport of carp fishing evolves it seems to have left behind the fairer sex and is still almost 100 per cent a male-dominated sport.
