We took a ride down to Barston Lakes Near Solihull to check out the annual Leeda & Wychwood Trade Show. Having been shown around the huge array of products our keen eyes spotted a few innovative items that will really stand out on the bank and benefit your fishing. Firstly was the much awaited D-Ploy bivvy, constructed from high grade lightweight aluminum poles and single aluminum rear spreader block this lightweight and durable design allows the shelter to be erected in no more than 30 seconds. The final of the Erics Carp Championship has taken place with the final 12 qualifying pairs competing for the £30,000 cash prize. The formidable field of anglers was a real who's who of match carp angling and it was clear at the draw that the result would not be clear cut. With carp spread out among the bays that make up the 25 acres of Farlows Lake, it was clear that the winning pair would be those who kept disturbance to a minimum and kept the fish feeding in their area for the duration of the 48hr match. When the starting hooter sounded, a barrage of baited rigs made it out to the spots and everyone waited with anticipation for the first bite of the match.

The brainchild of Leeds tackle shop, Eric’s angling, the new contest will carry a top individual prize of £30,000 – making it the largest ever single prize in UK specimen fishing. In addition to the winners purse, the event will carry a runners up prize of £6,000 and a third prize pot of £2,500.
