Mobile approach pays dividends.
Sticky ace Rob Shanks enjoyed a session to remember last weekend, after a switch to stalking tactics paid dividends in grand style.

He explained: "With the wife and kids away for the weekend I decided to get a rare 48-hour session in on my Norfolk syndicate water.

"I'd baited a swim a few days previous, and on arrival it was clear the fish were in the area, but what looked like an odds-on bumper session turned into a bit of a head-banger. The fish were clearly content feeding hard on natural baits while enjoying some well-needed sun on their backs. 

"I managed to turn what looked a certain blank into two nice twenties on the bank by using simple stalking tactics. Both fish were caught using freelined baits in the shallow margins. The first was caught from the surface where I fed Pedigree Chum Mixers glugged in krill liquid, and used a cut-down Sticky Krill Pop-Up as a hook bait. After a good fight, the fish went 23lb 8oz. 

"The second fish went 25lb 4oz and was caught by being ultra stealthy and simply lowering a freelined Sticky boilie in among some feeding fish found in the margins of a quiet corner of the lake. I was over the moon as making the effort to try something different on this occasion really paid off. Tackle used on this occasion was simply 10lb Drennan Supplex and an ESP Big-T in size 10."
