Martin Locke’s Solar Tackle has been producing top-quality bait for many years.


In fact, the company celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2012 and its most notable products are undoubtedly the hook baits.

There have been some absolute classics through the years, including Winter Secret, Club Mix, Bunspice & Aniseed and many more. In recent years, the Jacko Pops, Dairy Cream & Fresh Pineapple, Top Banana and Quench have proven hugely successful and, even more recently, some newer varieties have entered the range.

Available in Perfect Pop-Ups – round baits obtainable in 11mm, 14mm and 18mm – and Corkers, which are the barrel-shaped versions, they’re all exceptionally buoyant and maintain their colour over prolonged periods in the water.

The real bonus, as if the inherent flavours were not already attractive enough, is that every tub is supplied with a free ‘Pot Shot’ inside. These small jars contain a liquid combination of the matching flavour, as well as additional enhancers and attractors. These are tipped into the tub of baits and spread with a good old shake. Leave the baits to soak up this liquid and their effectiveness continues to grow. Oh, they’re all needle friendly too.
