Three 30lb-plus fish from Surrey water.
The welcome break from the recent hot weather has seen the carp fishing hit top form at Old Bury Hill Fishery in Surrey. Both the Old Lake and Temple Lake have come back with a bang, with three thirties reported from the Old Lake in just over a week! There has also been a nine-carp haul for one angler on Temple Pool, which included fish to just shy of 30lb.

Wayne Davies marked his 38th birthday by fishing Peg 38 on the Old Lake, and took six carp including a cracking 32lb 10oz common. The Redhill angler also bagged a string of commons weighing 20lb 1oz, 18lb 6oz, 16lb 4oz, 14lb and 8lb, topped by the 32lb 10oz fish. Wayne was casting 20mm Sticky Baits Krill glugged boilies tipped with Korda Pink Fruity Squid pop-ups, and slow-sinking imitation maize off the fallen tree at the side of the island and not using any loose feed.
