Popular Bedfordshire day-ticket water Manor Farm in Biggleswade has been throwing up plenty of fish recently. We received news today of some great sport over the last week on all of their lakes. Damsel: Paul Scott caught eight carp between 7lb and 13lb 8oz on cell boilies. Keith Jones caught nine carp to 15lb on a cell boilie tipped with corn.

Dan Hawkes from FatFish Tackle proved he can walk the walk on a recent trip out with other staff from the shop. Six fish came out to 13 people… and Dan had three of them, at 27lb 2oz, 27lb 4oz and the best at 32lb 4oz. All the fish came to a new nut-based bait developed by FatFish with Solar Tackle’s Martin Locke – in fact it was so new Dan only picked it up on the Sunday, used it for the first time on Monday and caught straightaway! The bait, exclusive to FatFish, is called Crunchy Nut Crème, and there will also be a new fishmeal bait out soon. When our samples of the Kutter (three sizes, 16mm, 20mm and 25mm) first arrived in the office I was eager to give one a go. I had a couple of kilos of boilies that I needed to feed alongside my particle mix but I didn’t want to put them in whole. I opted for the middle-sized Kutter and haven’t looked back since. Chopping these baits into halves was an absolute doddle, saving me a lot of time and wear on my fingers! The compact design allows it to be stored easily in a bait bucket or bag and, with one click, the handle opens out and is ready for use.

Chod rigs enable you to present bait pretty much anywhere but the hardest part has always been tying them to a precise standard. Well ACE has done all the hard work for you and Terry Hearn has selected all the components that are right for the job. Tied with its top-of-the-range materials, these ready-tied chods can be brought in barbed hook sizes 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 in both short and long lengths. Tied using the ACE Razor Point SRC hooks, offering superior strength and one of the sharpest points on the market, the rigs incorporate the ACE Pop-Up Pegs, which can easily be screwed into your pop-up hook bait.
