There’s a plethora of tackle boxes available these days, many of which have followed Fox’s original concept. The Chub Smart Box has been around a while and in this ‘System’ version offers multiple internal compartments, boxes and hook-link spools. Each is designed with rounded bottom edges to make flipping them out of the main box a doddle. The plastic construction is robust, although we did find the clasps a little fragile.

Being a keen angler for more years than he was willing to admit, his father, Adi, set about taking his son for his first-ever fishing trip. Stanton Lake Fishery was the destination for young Arley to wet his first line and the 24-hour session that ensued was one that he won’t be forgetting for years to come. Carl used a Seafood Take-Away Corker pop-up presented over a bed of hemp, corn and Seafood Take-Away freebies that he spombed at 80 yards to a small, hard, clear patch. The new season at scarper carper’s Lac de Paix has arrived with a bang… or two! The company, which provides self-drive fishing holidays in France, has announced the capture of two huge carp, with both fish falling to the same angler. Michael Martin’s first fish was also a new lake record! ‘Starburst’ weighed in at an impressive 56lb, and was caught on Michael’s first trip to Lac de Paix. Taken on Lake Special baits, the carp has packed the weight on over the winter and is looking good on it. His second fish was another new lake record, a 45lb 3oz common! Once again, the fish was in immaculate condition.
