Free Lessons To Get Back Into Angling

A free fishing lesson is being offered at Cornwall's Porth Reservoir near Newquay, to encourage people to Get Back Into Angling. The session is aimed at people who used to go fishing but for reasons including starting a family, a busy career or going to university, they have stopped fishing but are keen to start again.

The session, running on May 20th between 9am and 1pm will focus on coarse fishing which includes some of the country’s most beautiful fishing including Roach, Rudd, Tench and the hard fighting Carp.  Participants at the session will be shown how to select the appropriate tackle, how to tie effective rigs and what baits to select amongst a morning full of hints and tips.

Participants on the session will be guided by qualified angling instructor Alex Ledbrooke who runs the Cornwall-based angling coaching service, The School Of Fish.  The free session is one of a number being offered this year in association with the national angling representation organisation, the Angling Trust.

Alex said, "Loads of people have tried fishing at some point in their lives and many of them really enjoy it. However, the reality is a busy life can mean no time for things like fishing so it gets forgotten.  Get Back Into Angling is looking to help people return to a brilliant and healthy sport with confidence and success".

Anybody who wants to register for this free event on May 20th between 9am and 1pm which is supported by the south West Lakes Trust should go online to fishingporth.eventbrite.co.uk If you can't access a computer call Alex on 07719685583 to reserve one of the limited spaces.
