Made from Aqua’s legendary durable Aquatexx material, the Atexx is a no-holds-barred, five-season sleeping bag that will see you warm in even the worst of conditions. With a deep Hollofil insulated filling and a fleece lining, once you are in the bag it quickly warms up to your ideal temperature. The waterproof outer material will resist damp and condensation. The traditional shape of the Atexx lends itself perfectly to most conventional bedchairs on the market.

The new Krank hooks have been turning heads of late. With the standard pattern released a few months ago, Korda has now unleashed the Krank Choddy to further strengthen the range. It’s built with the same sweeping shank, slightly offset point and large gape, that made the Krank such a devastating pattern. The Krank Choddy has one simple alteration, an out-turned eye that allows it to be used with the stiff filament lines associated with chod and hinged stiff rigs, further improving their hooking ability and adding a different option of hook when fishing these popular rigs.

TC editor Marc Coulson says: If seeing that price for these superb, limited edition carp rods sees you frantically searching Google to find out where you can order a set now, then the first thing we’ll tell you is that these are pretty much exclusive to Angling Direct. The bespoke 3. 75lb test rods are designed with the long-range angler in mind, albeit they do offer an element of forgiveness for close-in fights and that critical period when the carp nears the net. We got our own Dan Murrell (pictured below), who can really chuck it, to put this rod through its paces and the results were very impressive indeed.

I have been using braided main lines as my line of choice for over two years now and when I first saw the new Fox Submerge I knew I would have to give it a test. Available in both 25lb and 40lb breaking strains each of which can be brought on 300m or 600m spools, the Submerge is produced in a blend of dark camo patterns that will help break up the outline over various lakebed varieties. What immediately stood out when I was spooling my reels up was the incredibly thin diameter with relation to breaking strain. At a mere 0.

I was recently given the Chub Xtra protection cradle to test. Now with my syndicate proving particularly hard work I decided to take it out to a few day-ticket waters in order to get some fish on the mat. Often the lively double-figure carp that inhabit a lot of day-ticket waters can be hard to keep under control, but this awesome mat takes away all my worries of fish safety. I have had two carp on the mat at once and been easily able to keep control of them and ensure their safety.

Although I have written a similar Used & Abused review in the past, in the months that followed I continued to use these in my fishing and got to know exactly how they work. I would never go back to a conventional line clip because the Smart Clip truly offers versatility that no other clip ever could. Firstly, they are absolutely universal and can fit to any rod and works with any alarm and bobbin combination, not just those from Delkim. They are extremely easy to fit and remove, via a simple rubber ‘O’ ring that is looped around the blank.

TC Reader Adie Turner says: I bought a pair of these on TC editor Marc Coulson’s personal recommendation and I have to say that I have absolutely loved them. So much so, in fact, that I asked Marc if I could write a review on them. They’re super heavy duty and have been the first waders to really cope with the hammer that mine have always received. I pretty much keep them on throughout my sessions, except for sleeping of course, so they are in and out of the water, up and down off gravelly banks and often covered in spod mix!The reinforced knee panel is an absolute godsend and the fact that they’re so easy to get in and out of completes an impressive list of what makes them so good.
