If Carlsberg did fishing tackle shops, they’d probably look something like this… Okay, so that’s a bit of a humorous way to look at it, but take it from us that when we visited Carp Scene in Somercotes, Derbyshire, it was a revelation. “Parking out the back, the first thing you notice is the awesome mural on the main wall, but it’s when you walk into the shop itself that it really impresses,” Editor Marc explains.
“I haven’t seen a shop so well presented in a very long time. Granted, it’s new, but the place is immaculate and the unique mezzanine-type stand through the centre of the shop itself really catches the eye.
I’m continually impressed with the new Nash luggage and, as a lover of this style and size of carryall, I paid particular attention to this one when my mate Alan Blair handed me it at the Carp In The Park event. It wasn’t actually for me, sadly, it was for review purposes, but needless to say it hasn’t made it back into the office just yet!The neat construction allows a host of configurations and the removable two top sections make sliding it all under a bedchair while maintaining complete access a doddle. When out taking these photographs of the Cube, I literally had to ration the features that I snapped with the camera, there were so many. Easy access to all compartments, foil linings to keep bait or food fresh, chunky zips, even an internal cooler-pack pouch – Nash seems to have it all covered with the Cube.
Win An Aqua M3 Compact! It’s one of our favourite bivvies on the market and we’re giving you the chance to win one…
Launched in early 2015, the M3 Compact was designed to offer all of the performance and features of the hugely popular M3, but with a slightly more compact design to appeal to those who wanted something a little less substantial in dimension. It bridges the gap perfectly and it is, as we said above, one of our favourites.
Boasting the impressive Aquatexx fabric for maximum protection with breathability, it stands up to the harshest conditions and condensation proves nothing of a foe. Plus, the simple two-rib design makes for extremely quick erection and packing away.

Although best known for its hugely successful Krill, there is so much more to Sticky’s range than just that. To complement the already successful high-attract pop-ups, Sticky has just launched these dedicated bait sprays to match each flavour and give an added boost. There’s one for each of the White Chocolate, Pineapple & N-butyric, Peach & Pepper and the awesome Buchu-Berry. As well as these, Sticky has also catered for its regular bait users by creating similar sprays for each of the Krill, Bloodworm and new Vor-Tex+ baits, each packed with the same attractor combinations as the baits themselves.
I wrote about this rucksack a month or two after first receiving it and I talked about my never-ending search for the perfect bag. I’d tried loads of carryalls and rucksacks and none had really stayed in my possession, with the exception of an original Trakker Armo many moons ago. I still own that, but it’s collecting dust in my loft because it became too big once I stopped taking so much stuff fishing with me!Now, having used this one for well over a year (albeit not exactly my busiest year in fishing terms) I absolutely love it. The compact nature removes the temptation for me to take more than I need, yet what I do take fits comfortably inside the two separate compartments and outer pockets.
