Bird-food-based boilies containing high levels of ground nut meal and a secret blend of spicesRRP: £9. 99 per kiloContact: 0115 989 4050 or www. dynamitebaits. co.
Although I have had limited use of these baits I am taken by the make-up of the boilies, even the shelf-life versions, which absolutely stink of shrimp, salmon, fishmeal and all manner of goodies packed inside. The inclusion of Robin Red increases the all-round profile. There are matching pop-ups to complement the baits and I particularly like the washed-out pink hook baits, (although the label calls them Fluro, they’re not) which could work brilliantly fishing over the top of a bed of boilies. I’ve started introducing them to one of the waters that I fish and, so far, the carp have readily accepted them.

Not before time, Dynamite has got its number one angler Terry Hearn to develop a new boilie and the result looks extremely impressive. Terry developed the original The Source bait and it was hugely successful. This one, in colour and texture at least, reminds me a little of that bait but the smell and taste is something quite different. There’s an impressive list of ingredients, including Haith’s original LT90 fishmeal, krill, spirulina, liver extracts, amino acids and a whopping seven major minerals.

The Tackle Box’s Lee Jackson says: Recently reintroduced by Dynamite due to popular demand, Fish Gutz is perhaps one of the most effective feeding triggers on the market and has a totally unique aroma. It’s a super-potent and ultra-concentrated formula that triggers a strong feeding response from carp and most other coarse fish and stimulates them to feed. It’s best used diluted in a bait dip/soak in a boilie mix at a rate of 5ml per kilo, or used in conjunction with other attractors that are used with groundbaits, stick mixes and so on.

Here’s quite a neat idea – instead of you having to buy separate tubs of barrel-shaped and round pop-ups, try these mixed tubs from Dynamite. There are four varieties, some of which I prefer the smell of to others, but each is extremely buoyant, albeit I wouldn’t term any as ‘fluoro’ bright. That’s not necessarily a bad thing because the brightest of bright baits are not necessarily always the most successful. With a mixture of sizes there is something here for most presentations, although the downside (compared with tubs of individually matched baits) is that if you favour one particular size they soon run out.
