Tara Lake
Check out the best open-to-fish carp waters in the UK. There’s something for everyone, wherever you live and whatever size of carp you’re after.
TARA LAKE
Cudmore Fisheries, Staffordshire
Tara Lake could be classed as a runs water, with many anglers catching loads of carp on short sessions. With more than 500 carp present, there are loads of double-figure fish in the lake, with a decent head of twenties. Most tactics work but plenty of anglers do extremely well using small PVA bags and pineapple pop-ups. The carp show regularly so it’s worth casting onto any fish that you see show. All of the pegs produce but the swims that allow you to target the islands are always worth a look. The fishery boasts a host of on-site facilities, such as a fully stocked tackle shop and café.
