Polaris Jacket
RRP: £75.95

Spending any amount of time on the bank throughout the coldest months of the year is enjoyed so much more when you wear the correct attire. The Polaris Jacket from Speero will be a worthy investment for those who plan to do so and not only is it a warm garment but it’s stylish too.

To retain as much warmth as possible the collar of the jacket sits nice and high around the neck, where there is a toggle at the back for tightening, often saving the need to wear a scarf. A lined foldaway hood is cleverly designed to sit on the back of the collar when not needed. Three pockets are found on the Polaris jacket, two spacious lower zipped pockets and an additional pocket inside to keep the phone, receiver or even wallet dry.

The cuffs are elasticated and feature thumb holes, keeping the hands nice and toasty in the most bitter of conditions. Sizes available range from Small to 3XL.

Sirius Tech-Lite Jacket
RRP: £72

Speero’s Sirius Tech-Lite Jacket is a true fishing garment to be used against the testing elements and its design is based largely on practicality yet is packed full of features. It is lightweight and windproof too, which means this can stay in the rucksack when not being used thanks to the small pack-down size.

The Sirius Tech-Lite Jacket is constructed from 100 per cent Taslon nylon with a mesh lining and boasts a number of pockets including one located in the chest and two lower pockets, both with waterproof zips. A full front zip allows for temperature control on any given day and on the most atrocious days the jacket can be fully zipped up working in unison with the removable hood.

The hood itself is fully adjustable by using the elasticated cord. There are also two zipped under arm vents for maximum airflow as well as elastic cuffs that can be adjusted to avoid any wind or rain from entering.

The Sirius Tech-Lite Jacket is available is sizes Small to XXXL.

Sirius Tech-Lite Trousers
RRP: £45

As with the jacket the Sirius Tech-Lite Trousers are fully adjustable on both the waist and ankles for the best fit as well as helping to reduce any unwanted wind chill or water ingress. Likewise the product is also made from 100 per cent Taslon nylon. The leg boot zips are a real winner as this means footwear can be removed or donned easily without the need to take the trousers off first.

A double layer shin impact area makes for a durable garment and the weatherproof zipped two pockets complete the package wonderfully.

Sizes available range from Small to XXXL.

Propus Trousers
RRP: £50

If DPM is not your thing but you are looking for a set of universal weatherproof fishing bottoms then Speero’s Propus Trousers may be just the ticket. As with the Sirius Tech-Lite range these trousers are of the same waterproof and breathability rating, therefore the use of these year round is recommended. Being lightweight these can even be stored away in the car for emergencies or for when making regular bait up visits to the lake without ever having to worry about the weather.

There are four pockets, two standard trouser side pockets and two waterproof leg pockets. Reinforced knees provide extra protection for the angler when bending down to take care of business and the elasticated waist band allows for the utmost comfort while bankside.

The Propus Trousers are available in sizes Small to XXXL.

Vega Hoodie
RRP: £45.95

Layering is the name of the game in autumn and winter, there is no use in having a high quality coat or jacket in your possession if the base layers are not up to scratch. Speedo’s own Vega Hoodie is the perfect accompaniment to the Polaris Jacket yet is also well suited to be worn by itself with just a T-shirt or thermal top underneath when the temperatures are set to stabilise.

The hoodie hugs the body like any decent sports fitting top does, which helps keep warm air trapped inside, sealed by the full-length zip operated by double pullers featured also on the two lower zipped pockets. With the hood donned the head is thoroughly covered, protecting ears from chill and only the face is left exposed to the elements left to spot any fishy activity going on out in the pond.

As with the Polaris Jacket thumb holes and elasticated cuffs have been implemented to good effect. Sizes for the Vega Hoodie range from X Small to 2 XL.

Fleece Hoodie
RRP: £21.95

Lightweight and practical are words that suitably describe the Fleece Hoodie. It is also the most versatile of the three garments as it is not only well suited to cold weather use but will be in the carp angler’s possession at any time of year. Wear it in the chilly evenings or mornings in spring, summer or autumn as well as underneath a coat or jacket in winter.

There is a wide range of sizes available, starting from Small all the way up to 3XL in a choice of DPM or Green. The hood covers the head nicely even when a hat as well as a scarf have been donned and a drawstring tightens the hood even further.

A handy large front pocket is ideal for storing a number of items but is equally great for warming cold hands, especially so when used in conjunction with the elasticated thumb holes.

Merga Hoodie
RRP: £23.95

Constructed with a brush lined polyester the Merga Hoodie can be comfortably worn all year round and any unwanted chill is taken away with the featured ribtech fleece. The Merga Hoodie is particularly effective when layered too, especially once the night time temperatures get close to or drops below zero.

A snug fitting hood helps retain as much heat as possible and protects from cold biting winds affecting ears as well as the neck, and using the drawstring helps further. A large front pocket keeps the hands warm, combined with the elasticated cuffs with thumbholes, which is also great for storing a receiver during the daytime.

The Merga Hoodie is available in sizes Small to XXXL.

Alcor Boots
RRP: £85

To begin proceedings with the new clothing range from Speero for 2020 is a new piece of footwear in the shape of the Alcor Boots. Despite it being common knowledge that we lose plenty of heat from our head, feet are as equally as important and these ankle high boots are very effective in cold weather conditions.

Available in sizes from UK 6 all the way up to size 12 the Alcor Boots utilise a multi directional grip on the rubber outer sole, providing stability on any ground type. A waterproof breathable membrane keeps the feet dry in wet conditions and on the inside of the boot is a moisture wick lining to prevent excessive sweating. To help prevent ankles from twisting an internal nylon stabiliser shank has been installed.
