Pva Problems

Question: Hi i wondered if your experts can help me i have trouble with p.v.a bags, I
seem to keep getting it wrong . Either I get it too wet and it melts or not wet enough so then I wet it some more and it melts. Can you give me some pointers were i'm going wrong.
Many thanks Andy Palmer via e-mail

Answer: Thanks for the question Andy. I am not sure if you are referring to solid PVA bags or the mesh variety. If it's solid bags then you can use a mix which is as dry as you want, as it's all encased in the bag itself

In a nutshell, though, it's not so much the consistency it's what you're
using to dampen the mix. Always use an oil-based liquid, not a water-based
one. Oil does not melt the PVA, whereas water will

I hope that helps
