New Gear From Fox

Some slick additions to the Fox range on display for the first time at T&G Show.

Fresh on the Fox stand at this year’s Tackle & Guns Show is a list of new goodies.

Flat-liner bed chair

New from Fox is the extremely comfy Flatliner bedchair.

Featuring a number of clever touches, the Flatliner offers huge comfort a huge sleeping space for a bedchair that weighs just 12.9kg.

Thinking about comfort, the Flatliner has no angle in the head section allows the angler to lie flat and in position where as a sloping head end to a bed typically causes anglers to slide down towards the bottom of the bed.

In order to keep the bed perfectly flat, while still be able to fold up for transport, the joint for the head end section features an innovative solution.

For folding the bed, the joint faces upwards to allow the head section to fold up. To provide a stable and flat head end to the chair though, the joint is then turned 180degrees round to point the floor, taking the joint section out of the way of the angler. A male and female joint then act to hold the two sections together cutting out flex.

Also adding more comfort individual lengths of elastic are used to support either side, attaching the matress to the bedchair at specifically calculated key points to give optimum support.

Another clever touch at the other end a double hinge bracket creates a void between the two sections, allowing for the bottom section of the bed to be folded up easily, even with a thick sleeping bag in place.

The new Flatliner comes out in the shops today (October 17) and should etail for around £299.

Mag reels

Fox’s coveted range of Magnesium reels have had a slick makeover for 2012.

The Mag 1200XT has had a number of additions, including a spool that gives almost perfect line lay thanks to the introduction of a graduated curve on the front lip, replacing the old model’s 45degree lip.

Gone is the freespool facility option on the reel, an added are an ergonomic ‘cobra neck’ seat, a new slimmer handle and an attractive ally thumbscrew.

The new Mag is out at he end of November and will retail for around £300.

New bank stick system

The new Black Label Edition range of sticks, buzz bars and accessories is not only clever but very sexy.

Featuring six lengths of stick, four widths of fixed and one adjustable size of buzz bar, along with stabilisers, snag ears and stage stand, the finish on the new kit is high quality and perfectly understated. With a rod pod frame as well you can also quickly convert to single sticks to a pod set up, while a conversion kit allows the buzz bars to move from a single stick to goal post arrangement with ease.

Prices for the range start from £5.99 rising to £39.99 for a pair of buzz bars, with all items available from mid December.
