New Carp Travel 800miles

30 specimen carp travel through three countries to new fishery home.

A delivery of 30 specimen carp made a huge 800 mile trip recently to be stocked into one of North Wales’ top carp waters.

In total 10 mirrors over 20lb, to 27lb, and 20 between 12 and 17lb made their way to Llyn Y Gors in Anglesey following their epic journey (for carp) from Scottish fish rearing company KBA Stockfish.

The bigger fish were introduced into the venue’s Thompsons Lake, while the smaller fish found a new home in The Old Carp Lake ready to give visiting carpers some terrific sport in the New Year.

“We’re very excited to have the new fish with us,” Llyn Y Gors owner Kevin Coe told Total Carp. “They are very long fish that don’t have much of a belly on the, so they have the frame to go much bigger and were hoping a few of the bigger fish will get into the 30s next year.

“Due to the traveling they would have lost a few pounds, but when they arrived they looked extremely healthy and swam off very strongly.”

The fish will be a welcome addition to the fishery that at present has carp the over 35lb in Thompsons.
