Linear To Reopen Tomorrow!

Floodwater subsides at Oxfordshire Lake.
One of the countries most popular and famous big carp waters, Richworth Linear Fisheries, near Stanton Hardwick in Oxfordshire is to reopen its gates.

The fishery closed after weeks of rainfall caused several of the lakes to rise above the platforms, making them dangerous for anglers to fish.

A statement on the fishery website explained: “Linear can confirm that the measures taken after the summer floods of 2007, to prevent fish loss, have worked well and no fish have been able to pass through the catch fencing barriers or transfer between the three waters.

We are delighted to be able to reopen the lakes, though a very small number of swims may be closed to fishing due to the very boggy conditions – we will open these as soon as possible.

Because of the very wet conditions underfoot visitors are urged to be extra careful and please bring the appropriate footwear as the areas around the swims are very soft and will very quickly cut up. We also ask that members with disabled vehicle concessions avoid driving onto any soft ground for their own safety until all areas are fully dried out

All at Linear would like to thank their members for their understanding through the recent unavoidable closure and hope they will be rewarded with some excellent fishing at these fantastic waters in future months.”

Lakes that are to reopen tomorrow include Brasenose One, Brasenose Two, Hardwick, Smiths and Manor Farm.
