Fish & Feed With The Best!

Your chance to catch carp with some of the biggest names in the game, and feast on fare cooked by renowned Michelin-starred chefs…

On October 6th and 7th, the first Wellocks Carp Cup will be hosted.

The angling match will be held on Brasenose Two at Linear Fisheries Complex, Oxford. Wellocks have exclusive use for 24 hours and fishing will commence at noon on Monday 6th and finish at noon on the Tuesday.

To make things just that bit extra special, Wellocks have brought in some of the carp industry’s big guns, to help with tuition and talks on casting, watercraft skills, bait and rigs etc. They will also be fishing.

They are, Terry Dempsey from Urban Baits and author of Urban Myth book, Jon Mcallister, the man behind the multi-rig and all out top carp angler. Terry Edmonds, casting coach, a three times UK casting record holder, with a cast of 287 yards and hopefully Jim Shelley, full time angler and author of Carp Uncut and Carp Recut, one of the country’s best carp anglers.

Joining the celebrity anglers are some of the UK’s best Michelin star chefs, Martin Burge, (Whatley Manor), Daniel Clifford (Midsummer House).

All anglers will be getting together and cooking on the lake bank for breakfast and dinner, using Big Green Eggs and Weber BBQs, with food supplied by Wellocks, Udale Meats, Aubrey Allan and Welgate Fisheries.

There will be two prizes up for grabs, one for the biggest fish caught and the second for the most fish caught. There will also be loads of tackle and bait to take away.

We have a few places still available on a first come, first served basis, but you must be a keen carp angler and be geared up with a bivvy, rods, alarms and tackle etc.

Brasenose Two is a 34-acre testing venue, with sharp gravel bars, and plateaus but it is stacked full of fish, so having the right gear is a must.

This really is an event not be missed!

Entry fee: £40.00

Already on the bank:

Martin Burge, Daniel Clifford, Sam Moody, Tom Shepard, Adrian Watson, Jonny Baron, Terry Dempsey, Terry Edmonds, John McAllister and Jim Shelley
