First Trip Success

Following the fish pays off with near 30lb mirror from new venue.

Nash Peg One sponsored angler Ted Bryan is certainly making the most of the big autumn feed-up and has been banking carp like they are going out of fashion. With his latest session seeing this stunning 29lb 8oz specimen come to the bank.

Fishing his first session on a new lake Ted suffered a first night, forcing him to move to find the fish which he had seen showing at the other end of the 30acre water.

Fishing three rods at around 60 yards range, he baited each with a kilo of I.C 1 and scopex Squid 15mm boilies – and it didn’t take long for the move to pay off.

“I was knackered after all the moving around, and was having a brew when my left-hand rod rattled off,” said Ted. “It was a positive fight but I soon had the lovely looking 29pounder on the unhooking mat.
“That night I also had an 18lb mirror, so all in all I had a good session.”

Ted tackled the new venue using 3lb test curve rods, Entoh 5000 reels loaded with 15lb Nash bullet line, 3oz Nash in-line leads, Nash bullet hook links, size 8 Nash Fang ‘X’ hooks baited with 15ml I.C.1 bottom baits.”
