Dynamite Red Amo Bait

Having reviewed the various bits in the Red Amo range on several occasions, getting the chance to actually use it was quite exciting. I don’t get too excited about many baits but this offered something genuinely a little bit different to the norm.

Based on the original Monster Tiger Nut boilie, Dynamite has added several extra ingredients including a particularly interesting fruit palatant that gives the bait a completely different profile.

Several Dynamite anglers have testified to the effectiveness of Red Amo during testing and I’ve seen first hand a few of these lads catching well on it.

Having secured a few kilos of the freezer bait – it’s available in shelf-life as well – I put a bit into my club water over a period of a week or so, before heading down to try and catch one on it.

It was obvious that the bait was being eaten as the few spots where I introduced it and could actually see the bottom had been cleared. I knew it was carp as the bottom was properly dug up, unlike when birds eat baits and just pick them up cleanly. The washed-out pink colour of the Red Amo does make it easier for bird life to spot, compared to darker baits, but this isn’t a huge deal.

In a nutshell I managed to catch one and lose one in a few hours’ fishing, using a glugged snowman hook bait over a sprinkling of boilies, so the Red Amo well and truly passed its first test with flying colours.

With the cooler weather approaching fast and my current bait not really lending itself to winter use I am tempted to persevere with the Red Amo over the coming months. If it proves successful I’ll be sure to let you know. (MC)
